The way to go is JL audio, for the subwoofer at least, but thats if you want a lot of boom. Also for speakers, I wouldn't look past Polk Momo's carbon fiber series component speakers. Sound great in my car. If you want something that can play high without that nasty sound. Try BOSTON ACOUSTIC. I think they are the best out there for the money! Remember tho, if it isn't powered ur gunna need an amp for the sub. The amp makes a difference too, if it's a crapy amp, its not gunna sound that great. I would also recomend not building your own box! Buy a single 12". u can find em. If the box has a leak, its gunna sound like crap. And if its not designed right, it will suck too. Take your time and look around.

why spend the extra for jl when you can get an eclipse that comes off the same assembly line for less money? prefab boxes are all garbage, building a box for the subs perameters is the best (or having it custom built)

yea, Id have it custom built too... Just don't build it yourself, thats just my opinion.
