which is better a 6x9" 2-way speaker or a 6.5" 2-way speaker?

I'd say 6.5" two way. You need round speakers for the best possible sound and the 6x9's always have the tweeter coming through a hole in the dust cap which I've always thought is a stupid idea.

yeah the shape of a 6x9 doesnt seem like it can make equal sound. but i'm getting my dad some for xmas for his vette.

sweet. i'll ordered a pair of 4" and a pair of 6.5" speakers from crutchfield. they include the adapter bracket for the rear.

crutchfield is a decent company to deal with tech support is great, the extras sometimes are low quality but hey they are free

I just got 4 3-way 6.5" speakers.. I havent had them installed so im not all sure how they sound..

Get a component set. It will consist of 6.5 inch mid driver and a set of tweeter. It will also come with a set of crossovers.
