It sounds like your hatch isn't tight enough. I had the same problem after installing my system, but it was because the hatch lock needed to be lowered. Pull the carpeting away from the rear wall and adjust the hatch mechanism so that it pulls your hatch down more.
If you have any decent amount of power back there, and you're pumping out some serious bass, you have to expect a certain amount of panel vibration. Only way to eliminate that is to dyno-mat the back of your car.
One of the best *Bass Test Songs* would be: Goin back to Cali ~ LL Cool J.........not my kind of music, but definitely tons of bass.

3 6 mofia late night tip and if you have extream bass its gonna rattle unless you weld your hatch shut even with the hatch tight and full dyno mat you cant stop mine from rattling when its hitting hard

any song by the artist/dj bass 305 will produce some good bass.. it really all just depends on the frequency that your system runs the best on..
and mines not blowing the hatch off but it is putting out decent bass and just taking some small strips of rubber padding (i actually used thick foam double sided tape that is used to seal windows) i stopped most of my rattle.. take off the tailights and the berger panel and see if there are any spots where it has been rubbing and apply some sort of padding in those places

Yeah, the bottom line is...............there's only so much you can do if you're running any decent amount of bass. Hell, my system rattles just about everything on my car.
On some songs, my bass hits so hard, it makes the CD skip........but that's just one of those things you have to be willing to put up with if you're going to have a lot of power. Thankfully with the sealed box and the kind of music I listen to, it's not so much a long vibrating rattle I have to deal with, but a short "HARD-A$$" thump from the Bass Drum, that keeps knocking my rear GFX loose. :banghead:
Sorry Tom, I wish there was a magic fix for it, but as long as everthing is buttoned up tight, the only thing I can recommend, is to just crank it up some more so that you cant hear it on the inside.

yea hard as hell to stop the rattle i have the hatch like i said previously that i cant help ill just replace the seal every now and then and if i can pin point something use something to dampen it. My ******* door locks is the one that pisses me off i havnt decided what i want to do to try and stop that little slider bar from rattling.
But on the plus side thats the only 2 things rattling and can only hear the lock one on the inside. I got all the other rattles out.

you might check the air vents to the sides where the spare tire is. theres two, one one each side of the trunk. ones below the spare tire and the other is on the oter side in the same place. when i put my 15 in mine they rattled really bad.
