I am lookin to finally replace the stock speakers, and will need help... what brand should i be lookin at? i currently only have an alpine head unit... i have no plans for anything beyond speakers as i don't really need it!

i want something high quality, not just pure loudness... i havent heard people talkin about alpine speakers... i wonder would they be any good

Focal, MB Quart (older models anyway), Polk, OZ, CDT, JL
don't just go on what sounds good in a board tho, if possible see if they can be heard in the car

Those are good brands to check out. Just remember, sound is subjective, what may sound good to others may not sound good to you. Listen, buy whichever sounds good to you.

I am running the Morels, i am pretty pleased with their sound quality.

They have a rich sound, they seem to have the ability to play loud and yet keep a smooth sound to them. Quality for audio to me is more important than loud.

SS, whose the local vendor for Morel? I'm looking to step up from my CDT's, and I've been reading alot of positive feedback about this brand. Also, what can you offer from Polk for around the $350-400 range?

I got some pics of the Morels. I'll add them tonight when i'm in. They're pretty nice looking, but again, they have a nice smooth sound to them.

Ive got a morel component set up front and a 6x9 morel in the rear.

Give us an idea of the type of music you listen to, your budget, and are you planning to add amps/subs in the future? There are tons of great factory upgrades that work fine with the power of an upgraded deck but won't work well with high powered amps etc. A good starting point is price....you don't always get what you pay for, and there are some terrific low cost speakers around that rival some of the much higher priced stuff. Also, an inexpensive speaker properly installed can sound better than a poorly installed competition unit. You really have to match your source with the speaker....give us some idea of what u have and what u plan to spend right away and in the future....
