always have something to say to me don't you....well yes it is illegal why because it is against the law. i don't make them i just follow them. I know plenty of people that have had a clear light up there like that and gotten pulled over for it here. call it retarded but that's how it is

And the reason I did it was not for the fact that it makes my plate more visible.. I did it because it gives a cool effect to the back of the car.. Instead of that ugly yellow bulb, I have a nice crisp white light..

Techinically in NY it would be illegal. But honestly I doubt you should have a problem, esp. if the LED's are tucked up inside the bumper. I see where you are comin from with the crisp light, and I do like that. If if only had maybe 15-20 LED's then I might be interested in it. Its a nice uniform light which I like, mainly because of my vanity plate that would be easier for everyone to read..
SMAN- the last thing that most cops are going to be lookin at first is your license plate- only reason to look at it is to run it- if you aren't doing anything stupid then you shouldn't have anything to worry about...
