Wouldn't care, cops where I am are all on power trips anyway.

NoRiceInside 04-30-2006 09:14 PM

kinda sounds like the ultimate rice mod for a camaro. theyre made to be left hand drive. why make it look japanese.

anyway, get a hold of an export trashed f body. take it all out and bam.

or an easier way, try to get a hold of the part numbers and buy all the export parts new. not cheaper, but easier.

jayfrat 05-02-2006 12:22 AM

You know where I can find part numbers for the export parts?

paarman97maro 05-02-2006 12:24 AM

japan?

jayfrat 05-02-2006 12:49 AM

I'm talking website wise just to get the part numbers, I know the parts would come from a different country but I just want the part numbers so I can see how much I'm looking at.

:google:.. sorry to be blunt, but i dont think youre gonna find anyone here that knows these.

I think that conversion would be insanely expensive. It would probably cost more than your car to do it because every part would come from overseas. I think up here a car with RHD has to be like 15-20 years old before you can drive it legally, but I am not to sure this is just what other people say. Anyway good luck finding the stuff and getting the money to pay for it.

FORCE_FED_Z 05-02-2006 07:12 PM

Have you seen a Camaro that is RHD? The more I think about it there is SO MUCH that would have to change that it seems not even slightly worth it to change.

Honesty you would be better off checking classified ads in Japan for a Camaro that is already RHD, if one even exists that is. Japan promotes buying new cars buy raising registration rates the older a car gets, so I guess their is a slight chance you could get one cheap, again- if they exist.

I can say that it will probably be cheaper to buy the car and ship it here than it would be to convert everything over. I honestly don't think that you realize the MASSIVE amount of work that it would take. Virtually EVERYTHING and I do mean EVERYTHING from the seats forward would have to be changed.

I just think about the steering... Theres no way that could fit on the 2-4-6 side... I dunnno about v8s, but theres like no room on that side.

PHDcamaro 05-02-2006 09:34 PM

i dont meen to sound like a prick...... but thats RETARDED..... like DEE DEE DEE retarded....................... try Ebay.co.UK or ebay.co.AU ......... ive seen 3rd gen RHD irocs in australia.... finding a 4th gen and finding someone willing to sell it is nearly impossible...

ive been searching for Export Tail Lights, an EXPORT Rear Bumper and EXPORT Folding Mirrior FOREVER!!!!!!!!!! and thats all stock stuff..... Chevrolet Ameica and Chevrolet UK coulent help me.........

jayfrat 05-02-2006 09:44 PM

I was gonna cut a hole through the 2-8 cylinders blocking the path of the pistons, figure I might get some lubrication for the steering column. :P

If I can find the parts I'll do it. (The cylinder thing was not serious)

FamousZ 05-02-2006 10:25 PM

They made folding mirrors.. Lemme see!

FORCE_FED_Z 05-02-2006 11:36 PM

I'm just wondering again, why do you want to do this? Is it because you hate being able to see where you are, and you always want to reach across at EVERY drive thru? Or is it that you want to be hassled by police everytime you drive? Or maybe its because you have two months of free time that you want to completely disassemble the car from the back seats forward, ditching the American parts and trying to fit in dumba$$ foreign parts.

Again- I'm not trying to sound like a prick either, but I honestly think that you have NO idea how much work, let alone money, you are looking at to get this to work and not be a half-assed cobble job.

Do yourself the favor and forget this idea, chaulk it up as a loss and try doin something else to try and be different.

PHDcamaro 05-02-2006 11:38 PM

yes they did on EXPORT camaro..... i might have a guy from London willing to sell me a set..... im waiting for an email
