Chrome Can Spray

Well here comes decisions, my intake is sanded down to 400, should i go ahead and finish the job off until the 1200 wet, or should i just use the chrome can? how good is the chrome cans, i've never used them before.

I have done it, if I had to do it again I would not use that . It gets dirty and everything sticks to it. Also, if you are like me and always wrenching under the hood, the paint chips very easily from tools hitting it. Looks like ***. Just polish it and clear coat.

I would assume you would have to coat it with something. It WILL get dirty as if the metal is not treated. Espeically anything that isn't aluminum.

If it's aluminum, it's better not to. Polished aluminum doesn't really tarnish that fast. The finer the buff, the longer it lasts. It just needs a rubbing with mag cleaner every season.

Clearcoat... A) chips real easy when applied to something polished
B) yellows from the heat

the only time I would clearcoat anything under the hood is if it's magnesium, because that will tarnish in a week
