Doing Interior now.

Ok here is what im planning for the interior. I also have a few questions at the end...

1. I orderd a new t-top headliner w/ sun visors (all black)
Q: I want to insert little lights on both sides of the center of the headliner
to somewhere resemble a air landing strip. I remember someone on here
who did that, forgot who. How do i got about on getting the right lights to put in, wire hookups?

2. I want to repaint my door panels and dash ***** ect..(im doing the whole black n white color scheme)
Q: Do i just buy the plastic & vinyle paint and spray it on, or do I have to clearcoat it..?

3. I want to paint my seatbelts white...
Q: Good idea or bad? and do i use the vinyl & plastic paint?...

As far as the dash and seats go I orderd a custom black Brushed suade dashmat that will have my name in white cursive lettering in the center.. As for the seats im having them custom designed to the color scheme with my first name in the head rest area of the front seats and my last name in the whole back.
Lee Harden muahHAHA!
ya know..just in case i forgot whos car I was driving..i unno..
Help out fellas.

I did the LED's down the center of the headliner, once I finishe fiberglassing my headliner I'll take pics of the new LED setup. If you do it the way I did, you'll want to use LEDs... I ordered mine from Oznium.com, and I'd personally recommend them. Good price and very helpful too.

For the painting, clear coat is a good idea, it helps add another layer between the paint and objects that might hit it.

So what is your opinion on the matter of painting the seatbelts white..? Go for it or no. Im only worried that if i do then they will get stained very quick..?

I also plan on ordering the bottom door seals from rksport that says camaro on it (only im gonna paint the lettering white)

Then im getting the lambo doorkit after the interior is all said and done. Once my project is compelete im gonna post pics..

1. Can't help you on lighting, other than running your wires all the way down to a switch and then wiring it to the fusebox or just the fusebox.

2. Currently doing my door panels. Luckily I had a few of them to "experiment" on. You want to cover the leather/fabric and the rubber door handle. Buy the plastic paint at Home Depot, $4.95 a can. And get some primer and clear as well. Primer isn't needed, but it's just a good idea . Under any circumstances, do not paint the rubber door handle. The paint will never cure and will be sticky, unless you sand it. Then it just looks bad. You'll need to "stain/dye" it.

If using the T/A door panels like I am, you'll want to cover those things plus the plastic under the rubber handle that incorporates the speaker and tweeter. For some reason it is made out of fiberglass or something other than the same plastic as the rest of the door. Plasic paint wont stick too well on this, So I had to use regular automotive paint. BTW you can bondo this part, but not the rest. Not saying it can't be done, but it will only stick well on this part. I tried doing this on the cracks on the top part of the door. No go. After a while of sanding it will fall off. So it doesn't stick well. Not sure what would happen later on down the road either.

Then just clear coat after your happy with it.

The red is where you should cover and not paint at all costs. The green is ok for the plastic paint.

3. Don't paint fabric. The plasic parts are ok, but not the part of the seatbelts that goes around you. You will want to "dye" it.

Go here for dye paint.

Yeah I know, I tried making them darker and trying different things in PS, but it looked even worse. So I just left it like it is here.

you know what would look better than those white faced ones? The dark blue faced ones that Brian posted on here once. But I've never seen any since.
