Guage cluster color change

I'm changing the guages in my car to the rk sport white face guages and I want to know if there is a way to do it without completely pulling apart the dash, can I just go through the clear plastic panel directly in front of the guages? Any help would be great, I just don't think this is going to be in the hane's manual I have but I will look when I get to the shop.

Thanks

I just pulled the whole gauge cluster off, made things a lot easier.

Yeah, when I did it I had to remove the gauge cluster surround panel, and then remove the gage cluster, and then remove the plastic piece that covers it (which for me was a PITA to get off) and then it was easy... :lolsign:

You can leave the cluster on and try to slip the overlay over the needles which is **** near impossible.

In my 94, I just took out the bottom bolts and pulled it out...Slipped it over the needles and was done.

But I'm dam good too.

I got it done today and have put a walkthrough on my cardomain page for anyone who hasn't a clue what to do. They look great, I love the blue at night.

I've always wanted to change mine.. I'd love to have blue numbers and everything, but I don't like the white background. I'd love to get the ones with blue flames, if it had a black background on it, but I can't find any such thing.... :(

Danielle -- have you checked with NuImage? I thought for sure they had the blue and white, and blue and black. If not -- email and see how much they charge. I love my nuimage flame gauges.

No, they don't.. they only have blue flames over white, which I could possibly settle for, even though I don't really like the white background BUT it is for 150mph speedo only...

see if they'll do a special request. I can't imagine that making black background would be any bit harder for them to do...

Yes, I'm sure. I've looked numerous times. The black w/ red flames comes in different speedos....Which to use 150 speedo gauges its gonna take alot more work thatn i feel like doing at this point. Later on down the road, possibly.

Well, it would take more than a black backgound, as I said. They would have to readjust for the speedo change, also. And a special request would not be cheap.

Mine are made by nuimage, I looked at their site and didn't see any black guages at all, but I only skimmed it's surface. I would think that if they make one for the 150 speedo, they might be on the way to making one for the 115 speedo. One thing that's different with mine if you look at my cardomain page is the numbers on my stock guages were odds. Now they are evens. It's kinda wierd getting used to it. I keep driving 5 under the limit without meaning to.
