Longest and most confusing sentence ever. You win.

But on a real note the SLP loudmouth would sound ok at idle and low rpm cruising. But at high RPM it will be almost annoying loud. Not much you could do to get rid of that v6 sound at high rpm's if that is what you are going for. Your best bet with sound quality on a v6 is a magnaflow caback.

Idle it doesnt sound bad, but wide open it sounds really raspy. Sort of annoying. I would stick with a chambered muffler if I had a v6 but to each thier own.

I ran a 3.8 wide open from the cat-back when I had my old firebird. I would suggest leaning away from that idea, it sounded absolutly horible. It was more annoying than any rice burner I ever heard.

iam looking for sound that loud at start up and idle
like an 8

Bernotas05 05-10-2008 10:11 PM

Well it would be loud but you wont fool anyone into thinking its a v8 if thats what your going for.

If you want that v8 sound sell the car and buy one or else do a engine swap which will be quite an expensive job.

The best sounding exhaust on the v6 f-bodys is the magnaflow cat-back hands down. Its got a good tone too it. No matter what you put on a v6 your still going to have the rasp in high rpm's though. But magnaflow would be the way to go. I would search around on a site like youtube for different exhaust on v6 f-bodys to get a general idea.

do u want kind magnaflow i should get

2000v6cam 05-15-2008 11:34 PM

viper04af 07-07-2008 06:53 PM

m cars sound has fooled a few people at the track at idle and thing but as soon as i get into it you can tell its a 6....... lucky for me with turbo/motor work it don't sound like ass

get the magnaflow get the one for the V8 tho

Ya, no V8 sound, mines a 3.4, but I've got duals, so when it isn't running I'll tell people I swapped in an LT1, they have no idea =)
