Hood pins

Need people's opinions on them. The fact they might make the hood sit better made me start thinking about it and since it's a 4" cowl (mean looking to begin with) i don't think they would look too outa place. What do you think?

I always thought hood pins were for imports, or 100% pure drag cars that actually have a use for them.

I ordered a fiberglass hood and it didnt fit right so I had no other choice but to utilize hood pins. As a painter, I have seen a lot of cars come through with that request. I think it makes them look tough. At least on the camaro, on a Chevy Corsica, not so much!!!! I turned that job down!

Don't go with it, someone can just lift your hood up and then cut the battery, once that happens then you have no alarm.

tehy are not even a race item my hood was pinned and it still came off they are purely decorative and look stupid on anything that's not a "classic musclecar" (pre '72)

I'm so-so on them on your ca.. leaning more to 'no'. My hood almost needed them, the corners were too high. But we adjusted it so that the corners are about right, but it sinks a little low on the sides. Hardly noticible, though. I've been thinking about them again, though. I just don't want to mess my hood up.

the lock ones don't work (they won't pass tech inspection at any sanctioned track because of high failure rates)

You can use hood pins in conjunction with your original hood release also. That is how I have mine set up. That way you still have the security of the hood release as well as the extra security of the hood pins and the look as well.
If you look at some of the newer body type pro-stocks with the hood pins, they look pretty sharp.
To each his own I guess. I will send out pictures of mine when its done (hopefully soon!!!)
