I have a problem with my taillights...
I have replaced my taillights and wiring with those off a 94 and have just found out that the break lights don't work . I figured everything was working fine. The only reason I know now, is because a friend pointed it out to me as I was leaving his house.
My guess is that my 99 needs both prongs/wires to make the brake lights work. I dunno. The 94 only uses one prong. Otherwise everything works. They light up at night, and the turns work, but when I apply the brake... nothing. Only the spoiler light works.
Heres a quick picture to show the differences (BTW, I checked them with a volt meter, so I know what is what).
Would it be worthwile to rewire the bottom sets? Like to switch them or combine them?
My camaro.

I would at least try it and see if that corrects the problem, but man, when it comes to wiring I suck. I'm curious though, haven't you had those tails in for quite a while now? Have been without brake lights for all that time?

Yeah I feel like such an idiot :banghead:.
I thought they were working fine (since I didn't have another person to help test them when I installed them). I thought everything was a go. Heh heh, boy was I wrong. It's weird that everything else works, but not the brake lights. So after I get done "playing" with my interior, that will be my next priority. Since wiring isn't my for-tey.. I'll need some time to think about it or ask some questions on other boards if I can't get help here.

93 to 97s are wired thru the turn sig switch so that the brake lights and turn sigs can work at the same time. You will have to run a line from the switched leg of the harness forward of the connector on the fender to the wire on the harness that is for the brake lights. It still wont work right because the brake light wont go out on the side that you have the turn signal turned to. Its a PITA!
