i want to paint the calipers
alright well me and my dad are on our final decesions about the rims.....we aren't sure between the black zo6's with chrome rivets or tt 2's.. price is the problem right now but beside that i wanted to paint my calipers(i think thats how you spell it) red....how would i go about doing this, i know they would have to come off. But will i have to sand them or just clean them and what do i use to paint them

They look better if they come off true but it's not necissary. If you paint them while they're on just make sure you mask the area well to avoid overspray. I've done them on 4 differant camaros now and never once took the caliper off.

I'd recommend getting the calipers powdercoated as opposed to painting them. Unless you feel like re-doing them every year.
Thats been my experience anyway. I painted them on both my Camaros and it always started looking crappy after a while.

yea they make a paint specific for that so its not normal paint but it will still probably wear out after time, but if u take the calipers completely off ur gonna have to bleed the brakes to get all the air out of the system after u reconnect them, im not sure if u know this or not lol but im just saying so u know for sure

ahh thats what he meant when he said you better know how to bleed lol....hmm, maybe i wil have the place that installs the rims and alignment do the powder coating for me.....last wensday though i did see a T/a that was turbocharged and had all chrome rotors and calipers it looked so sick, but thats problay alot, i wish i brough a camera that night

I always take mine off to paint them. I have to redo mine again. It's been 3 years since I did mine last. In my experience they don't look that bad every year as long as you keep up with the cleaning of them, they stay pretty nice.
