Lucas Synthetic Oil Stabilizer

Sorry, I'm new here, not 100% on where to post this.
Anyway I drive a 2001 VW Golf GLS. 103 000 kms on it. I have 5W40 oil in it. I am thinking of putting this Lucas stuff into it, but not sure if it really does anything, and haven't really gotten any definitive answers on other forums, anybody here have any input on the product?

Edit: The only reason I am considering this, is because in the cold weather, when I start my car, I hear a knocking noise in some valve somewhere (I think), no idea, and I heard this stuff sometimes helps.
