dont even start to make this personal son. i bet you dont know half the **** i did to that 3.4 i doubt you know what cam duration, LSA, or a lobe centerline is...i didnt throw an intake on it and say damn its not an LS1 i may as well give up.

i did a lot and put a lot of work into research and manual labor trying to get that fast. i now know the weak point of the 3.4 was the intake, but i tore into that ****** and got pretty decent results...just not what i was looking for which was close to v8 performance.

to say i failed is taking this argument way too personal. you wanna keep going...PM it ******.

Yeah, and the big block/roots blower guys would say why are you tryin to go fast with that little 350? You want power and torque you need to get a big block-along the same lines I could say, why waste your time trying to make power with this intake and cat-back and which one will give you 2hp more, just slap on a blower and be done with it. I realize though, that not everyone has been fortunate as I have in finding the deals I have for the core of my car, nor do they have the finances for it, either being HS/college student or what have you. Every person here has a love for their car and enjoy doing things to it to make it their own, if its apperance, performance or a combo of both.

On the other hand I see what Caleb is trying to get it, he might have a certain way of saying it that some might not agree with but the underlying point I think is still there.

Yes for those new people here, he(Caleb) did have a 3.4, and yes he did put a lot of money and elbow grease into trying to improve its performance. Yes he did see improvement, but hit a wall that just about every person finds with their car. You reach a certain point where you are about at the thresehold of what your motor can make without making severe changes and lots of money into it. Yes, Tiago is making a lot of power, but I bet its a lot of money invested under that hood.

What I thick Caleb is trying to say, is that if you want to make what some would call 'real' power, it can be done easier on a V8 than a V6, your power parts are going to make more power with more cubes. But I say, if you love the car you have now, and enjoy working on it, then do it, regardless of cubic inches. It doesn't matter if you go from 179 to 190rwhp. If you do the work yourself and enjoy, you appreciate the gains you make.

As for the wheel question, I would be careful if you decide sandblasting- the wrong media in it at too much volume can make a mess of your wheels real quick.

I would say take them somewhere and pay the $$ to get them blasted down again so you can start fresh. Once you do it you will wonder why you didn't in the first place.

Right. This is what I wanted to say, but you typed it out for me . Someones always looking down on the lower engine. Just like I look down on 4 bangers, but I have respect for those who put out power with them (somthing you should appearantly look into).

Its all about money, not the engine (which is where you were wrong caleb). Power can be easier made with a V8 than a 6, but if you have the time and money to invest into a lower cylinder car, then so be it. I always laugh at myself and others with little motors looking for power, but god damn, theres plenty of people out there with much more power than I would expect.

Just the general justification you try to make with a statement "oh god, why would you try to go for performance on a 6 cylinder" is a retarded statement. Yes retarded. Its easier to make power on a different larger motor makes sense, but power on a 6 can be done. Money, time, patience, and passion is all it takes.
