Its here, im going to put it on tomorrow! More pics to follow when I get it on...

The good news, it looks like I can possibly bolt it up instead of it being a liftoff! But I will definately need front hood pins.

Its that, pretty much a harwood in carbon fiber. I only got cf because its almost the same price, and this way I dont have to match paint ;)

that's because of the hood pins, in some areas evidently they aren't "legal"

Hell yea it was. I've never drilled through carbon fiber before. I actually went to a coworker and borrowed his diamond tipped bit to drill it, I was so afraid it was going to split or crack, but so far so good!

paarman97maro 09-08-2006 08:10 PM

looks pretty nice... not really a fan of carbon fiber, but I like the design. Pretty cool.

1hottcamaro 09-08-2006 08:26 PM

looks really good!! :D

94ta383 09-08-2006 10:34 PM

Looks good man

FORCE_FED_Z 09-08-2006 11:04 PM

Why did you put the hood pins so far back? And I would be careful about those lanyards scratching up the paint..

I was wondering the same..

Phate 09-09-2006 12:13 AM

The lanyards are rubber coated. And about the hood pins being so far back, I had nowhere solid to mount it really, so I used the space where the hood bumpers used to be with some washers.

MeenZ28 09-09-2006 01:17 AM

Really? Cause when i had to use the pins for my cowl I installed them threw the upper radiator support. They didnt go as far back as that and looked ok.

FamousZ 09-09-2006 01:45 AM

Looks good.. Not a fan of hood pins but thats me..

MeenZ28 09-09-2006 01:49 AM

Thought this would be a good time to bring this up. Found this on Afterthoughtsauto.com... for those of you who want all the looks of hood pins but without all the drilling...

http://www.afterthoughtsauto.com/hood-pins.html

http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c...o_1913_1265083

Not a bad idea if you like how they look. But when i had Epic painted and the guys fixed the hood latch to where they weren't needed any more, i opted to not have them.

Mike Jones 09-09-2006 02:03 AM

Ouch $63 for the fake hood pins?

MeenZ28 09-09-2006 02:13 AM

The price of vanity.

paarman97maro 09-09-2006 02:21 AM

Mighta helped him yesterday, huh? ;)

69z-28 09-09-2006 10:19 AM

price for gay. anything that is just for looks is usually gay, unless its something like a hood or wheels, but if its trying to look like something its not, LAME. hood looks great and pins look nice as well.

BLACK ICE 09-09-2006 10:33 AM

Looks good. I always wanted a carbon fiber hood for my thirdgen but the only one I found was a japanese one and to buy it and have it shipped will cost me close to $1400.

Depends on where you buy it. Unless they have a deal with a shipping company, its going to cost them $125+ just for shipping to cont US.

blue89vert 09-09-2006 12:46 PM
