Yeah, you can do as many coats as you want. I think 3 or 4 is all it takes to make it dark... and it's paint, you can most certainly clear coat over it.

yes, 3 or 4 coats is the basic, I wouldn't do more thatn the 5 I did personally, and yes you can clear coat. In fact, I recommend clear coat. And Derek, some people were able to get it off, but I've heard some couldn't. Trying to get it off messed up the finish on the taillights.

I really wanted to do this because my tail light blackouts rattle w/ the bass which I do not like. But I would want it to come off in case I get pulled over for them.(even though I havent yet) and would have to take them off..

I took some the other day from farther away, here you go. Mine are a lot brighter than Brian's. First one is about 20ft, the other is about double that.

I've actually been thinking about buying another set of euros or something just to tint it. I went way too dark on mine, and the fact that I did a coat or two more on my driver side (making the driver side much noticably darker) has been bugging me way before I took the pics, but after takin the pics it kinda sunk it home lol. I like the aftermarket look when they light up, but I love the smoked look during the day, so I'd have to buy another set of euros if I do change it.
