Ok, what's with lowering springs?

After the side stripe thread the idea was mentioned to lower Epic.... nothing I'd really concidered because of ground effect issues but it got me thinking anyway.

But I noticed something, looking at the cheapies on Ebay it seems that the lowering springs avalible specifiy that the springs that will work on most every camaro won't fit convertible. And I've asked 3 differant sellers that and they confirm the same thing. Why? I know verts have quite a bit more bacing underneth the car but springs and shocks-wise should be identical. Why is that?

I'm guessing the extra weight would be the only reason. Might make the car lower then advertised.

yeah i think that's it just cause it probably weighs more and won't lower as the auction may say

I agree w/ what they've said, but you could prob check w/ some other vert. owners that have lowering springs to find out what they're using.

I have a Z28 convertable and I have the Eibach drag launch lowering springs and I have no problems, they even have an air bag in the passanger rear that you can set between 8-15 psi. If your worried about your ground effects they only lower the car between 1-2 inches.

Couldn't you go with a 1" lowering spring that would actually be about 1 1/2" due to the extra weight? I don't see how the springs would be any different

The drag springs aren't supposed to lower your car...

I would think its just the little extra weight that would be the problem, but even then if you got some cheap air shocks it would make up any difference that there was...
