headlight buckets, yes. mirrors, no. stripes would look cool like he said. and you can get a Z28 grill on ebay for super cheap if you're patient, my friend got one for $15+shipping. they look much cleaner in my opinion.
and the head light buckets are REALLY easy to do yourself if you are patient also. the black paint you dont even need a compressor for. just get a good airsol can and spray it evenly, about 2 coats, then it would be nice if you had a compressor and spray gun to shoot a bit of clear coat over it to make it nice and shiny. trust me i just repainted my IROC-Z last weekend and that's how i did the headlight buckets, it's REALLY simple. just make sure you tape it off nice and accurately...
this is what it looked like after i used an airsol can and some clear coat:
it shines!!!!

For your car bud, I would recommend a low-gloss or even a semi-flat black, as they are on most of the 3rd Gen Z28's. They even make a low-gloss black paint in a aerosol can just for trim pieces and things like that. Either way you go....I would definitely recommend painting the headlight buckets black, and going with the Z28 Grill insert.
As BlueZee28 already stated, it's very easy to do yourself. I did the same thing to my '87 by first using that blue 1/8 inch pin-stiping tape to mask the edges, since it's so flexible......then use your green or blue low adhesive masking tape to finish it off. If you don't go with the Z28 insert, I would definitely remove your louvers, or even just mask them off, and paint them as well.
(NOTE) Make sure you sand it very well, or at least scuff it up real good with scotch brite before trying to paint it. I'm sure you probably already knew that, but I though I'd mention it anyway.

I think the front end would look better if you also painted the grill louvers black as well. Unless you're going with a Z28 insert, that would look the best. And yes on the black stripes too.
