Pillar Pod
Ok im kinda pissed off. I've called Autometer, and talked to autometers supplier of the pillar pods (www.gaugepods.com) and according to them nobody makes a pillar pod (full pillar) 2-1/16, 2 pod for the '96 camaro t-top, or for a '96 camaro period. Has anyone had any luck finding one? I've tried everywhere I know, jegs, autometer, summit, etc.
I've already got the gauges just no pod. The only thing i've found is a non full pillar pod, which in my oppinion looks tacky and ghetto. If anyone knows where I can get one custom made, that would help too. Thanks.

I guess that would work with the stereo installer thing. What do you think is a fair price to make a full a-pillar, or mod one with them to where it looks matching and clean?

I would like to know how hard it would be to make a triple fit, I am torn between running a triple pillar with 2 additional gauges below the radio or twin gauges on the pillar and runnin the quad gauges in the console circa '69 style.. decisions decisions..

Thats what I am leanin toward- takin out the stupid tape holder and putting the gauges in front of the shifter- it would take a little fab work but it would be a nice throw-back to the 69's. So as far as gauges I am plannin on Boost, Fuel pressure, oil pressure, water temp, cyc head temp- still unsure on the 4th- there are a couple different options I am still deciding on..

I wish I was good with body work and I could fab up some of this better. I can only do minimal body work. Have only done little things with fiberglass.
Force Fed - I like your idea of the gauges in front of the shifter, gives it that oldschool look. To do that you'd probally just have to remove that whole tape holder area.

I hope thats all I have to do- I never liked that clunky box anyway..it would open up the dash and fill it in at the same time. I haven't looked too closely yet, worse case would be having to mount it directly in front of the shifter to make sure they aren't blocked by the bottom of the radio console.
I'll be sure to post pics when I get it done-

Hey Phate...Let me check. I have like 6 or 7 different full pillar pods in my garage. I can check on my buddies 95 camaro to see which one fits best, then maybe all youll have to do is mod it alittle. If i can find one that is close, Ill just charge you shipping. There not doing me or anyone else any good in a box in my garage and i didnt pay anything for them.
