Quick release steering wheel
First off, there are no pics. Mainly because I haven't decided if i want to use my current wheel or go with something else. But....
I had the last week off of work for Jordan's birthday (he's 4 now) and in that time i spent most of it looking for a new job. But inbetween that i put together a project that i wanted to do on a whim. I found those universal Quick release steering wheel hubs on Ebay. Wasn't easy to do since i think they were intended for Hondas or whatever but with a little custom fabing i was able to make it work. Now i can detach the steering wheel when not in use (ala Nascar style). It's cool and all but more importantly it's a security thing. Hard to steal a car if you can't steer it. Kinda hard to do with a broken tranny too but thats beside the point. I'd post pics but if you just imagine a steering wheel on.... then it's off. You got the idea.

thats pretty cool. not a bad idea at all. i cant remember..do you have a stock steering wheel or is it aftermarket? i think it'd be a pain doing what you did on a stock one with the wires for airbag etc.

thats cool but i mean are u really going to take it off and like carry it around with you? i can see when working and stuff, but other times? i can see that type of thing like at 1st taking it off all the time and than after a few months barely ever taking it off.

Well once Epic gets running again it's going to come in handy. With the Tonneu covers the top never goes up so everything is right there in the open. Just an added bit of security and piece of mind.
Yah, after market. The stock wheel has been gone for close to a year now. And yes, i did see the pics of yours. Looked good.
I imagine it will get tireing after a while but I like it. It's a cool feature and one of those things that Epic would be one of the only ones (if not the only) to have. And no, I really can't see carrying it around with me. LOL
