Radar Detectors

Who all here has one, and what do you use?

Im looking to pick one up here soon... We get a really nice discount on them, and I do many trips between here and home, so it would be really nice to have. At first I was looking at a cheap model cobra.. Then I saw the next level up has voice activation... Then the one above that for like $10 more has digital text, so Im looking at that one right now.

I used to have a Cobra one that was a really old model and it worked great. Cobra radar detectors are really nice for the money. Do you have a link for the one you are looking at?

Yeah but those are so expensive.

The one Im looking at is like 137... I get more than 50% off.
I just want somthing that looks cool and beeps at cops lol. Nah, I want it to work decent. My last one was old as hell... So anything its going to do the trick for me.

This is the one I was going to get first: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138085846921

2nd: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138085846863

And this is the one I want now:
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1138086487222

The only reason I didnt get it today was because they are out of the second and 3rd ones... I dont know how often shipment comes in, hopefully its soon. Im going home on sat.

Im in the same boat. I'd like a good working one for a decent price. But im still iffy on radar detectors period. I've seen them work, and ive seen them fail. So i'd like some people to post some pro's and con's stories on them.

I think TORK has one... or had one, if Im thinkin of the right person... you had a debate with arch about it before.

But yeah, my old one worked, and that one was seriously like at least 10 years old, and it worked nice for the year and a half that I used it... I think it ran its course now... My friend has a pretty nice one I think similar to the one I want, and it works pretty good for him. I mainly want it for my highway driving... Takes to long to get home now doing the speed limit

So I went back today and asked if they got it in, and the guy says no... Then I ask him when theyre supposed to get them in and he checks in RSS (our inventory prog) and he says they should have 4 now... so he looks at the ceiling, and other random places that it wouldnt be and says he wouldnt know where to look... so Im like ooook... Guess Ill try again on friday. Hopefully it will be a different guy, I need it this saturday!

RSS shows when we have junk even when its still on the truck or in shipping to the store. so just because it says so...could still be 2 states away lol

Wouldnt it show up in the local warehouses then? Theres a whole differnet category for stuff thats still being shipped.. When it shows theres 4 it either means they have it, or it just hasnt been updated and were sold out. They probalby have them, the guy seemed like a retard.

I mean, what if I was a customer? I wouldnt just tell them "uh.. I dont even know where to look".. Id find someone who did, or look a little harder. Guy was kind of a jackstaff. Oh well, I hope they get some in if they are out.

haha thats the gay part about RSS, once its on the truck heading for our store, its considered at the store lol. (at least thats what i understood)

oh and if you were dealing with a customer and RSS showed we had that many but couldnt find them, tell them we dont have any. works better than searching for 20 mins just to tell them the same thing. plus the best part about being in GS, we arent any department. no matter what product is brought up to us we get to say....."thats not my department, let me grab someone who can help with that"

jew it on to someone else ha ha

oh and paar, you live 3 miles from a second BBY just try there. worth a shot

I have a valentine in my camaro at the moment, it is by far the best thing you can buy. It has the arrows to tell where the different radars are coming from, the intensity, and distance of the selected radar. All 100% the $400 price tag.
