removing old decals

i have this spare dash i bought that has a pretty big and ugly decal on it.. it's hard to get at and bits chip off when i peel/scrap it. looks like it was stored outside cause it's all dried up..

any suggestions to remove this safely without damaging the vinyl on my dash?

try moistening up the decal. i know you can use "goo-gone" (although, it didnt really work for me) for exterior stuff, not interior.

get a heat gun or blow dryer, and keep it at least a few inches away from the decal....don't go too close to damage the vilny. also don't hold the blow dryer/heat gun in one spot for too long.
