hey guys! i just got a used razo ra66 gear shifter...but i have a problem instlaling it. apparently it's a screw on..and i guess the plastic piece inside is a one time screw on use sorta thing...and since i'm second owner...it doesn't 'mold to the thread of my shifter. so i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem with a used shifter and how did you get it to fit. can i buy thes plastic things that molds it to your shifter? le tm eknow! thansk guys

Well i am not sure about this whole molded shifter thing. Aftermarket shifters usually have 3 types: 3 allen key screws around the bottom of the shifter **** to pinch the **** to the shifter(cheap and usually don;t grip well and vibrate off), a direct screw on (threads are plastic and keep the **** from vibrating off the shifter as the plastic seems to absorb some of the driveline vibrations), a direct screw on and the threads are metal with a nut on the bottom to stop the **** from vibrating off from its threads.

If you have messed up the thread inside the shift **** then its garbage. I am not a fan with aftermarket shift ***** unless they are direct fit for the car or made by a quality company. Usually they look cheap and ugly and don;t suit the car at all.
