well my opinions arent first hand, im just stating what ive seen and heard from customers with them, so i appologize.

i knock sumitomo cuz i havent seen much of them but of what i have seen they tend to be prone to seperation, choppy and uneven wear.

of course maybe i just happen to get the bad ones...

80k out of a z rated tire? You've gotta be bullshitting me. I've never heard that much out of that speed rating. Im not saying its not possible, but damn man, he must do 100% highway miles.

Very nice chose with the wheels. Those will look good with the colors of your car.

Okay, the speed rating on the tire is basically telling you what compounds the rubber is made out of, softer or harder. The higher speed rating you get, the better grip and handling your going to get out of them, but steeply increase the amount they wear. Z and W Rated tires are considered "high performance" and is pretty much everything your looking at, which you'll probally only get 15-20k MAX out of for a daily driver. Personally, I dont like directional "V" tread design tires, because of the way they wear and like to chop out really bad.

Here is the tire I went with.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....reModel=HTR%2B

I like them because they arnt that "V" tread design, they are high performance, good price, good quality control (as far as ive seen in the past 6 months we've dealt with them) and they have a curb guard (its where you see the rubber come up a little taller than the lip of the wheel, its a unique look and keeps you from hurting your wheel too. Not to mention the price is hard to beat. I definately recommend them.

TireRack has them for $99 each for the 245's, and doesnt have 275's listed, but I know they make them, I have the sumitomo catalog at work. Probally about $125-135 for the 275's.

If you lived near me I could get you a steal on them, but shipping makes it not even worth it.

Sure does show you the difference between 17's and 18's though. I got my whole set of 275/45/17's in that tire for less than 400 bucks (installed by me though).
