wanted to do a driveway paint job. going flat black. tips?

i got this damn a$$ ugly crx thats the colour of vomit, and i want to repaint it flat black, im normally not cheap when it comes to paint but i was always curious to see how it would turn out. i want to paint the car flat black.

where do i start... how do i do it, i've never done this before!

Buy about 30 cans of tremclad and go nuts.

Light sanding unless you have to do rust or dent repair.
Tremclad does not need primer.

painting your rex

you will need about 2.5 - 3 cans per side and ta least 2 for the hood and roof

dont use tremclad it fades and lokks like crap after 3 months use armour coat it has a nice smooth finish and looks sweet in the rain

it will turn out crappy if you do shitty prep and if you lay it on too thick to start, just wet sand with at least a 600 grit and give it a very light spot coat all over nice and even especially if you are covering another colour like red

umm lol..why would you do it in a driveway where there is wind and horrible overspray? at least have it in a protected place where you wont get grit and dust all over it. why not spend the extra time and not make it look like such a bag? good luck with this one man..post some pics when finished i'd like to see how it turned out.

i was giving him the benifit of the dought and believing it would be done in his garage, my neigbours didnt like the overspray on their windows...jk
