Where to find an SS hood?

Where would one find an SS hood, I like those better than 90% of the other aftermarket hoods, and what am I looking at for cost? Keep in mind its a 1999.

I would say only thru Ebay if its a reputable company. If only you pay $350 for a hood its going to look like it. If you don't mind a crappy fitting hood buy the cheap one. But if you want it too look good plan on spending an easy $500 for one. Ask Arch- he will be glad to tell you his horror story with cheap SS hoods..

FORCE_FED_Z is absolutely right buddy!!! I'm Arch BTW, (What's up man) ........I bought one of those SS hoods off eBay for about $350.00, and I can tell you it ended up costing me twice as much to have it fitted to the car, as it would have had I gone ahead and paid the $530.00 it costs for a "GlassTek" hood! At least they come ready to prime & paint. (The horror story will have to wait for another time)

Four places to get an SS hood for your car:

www.SLPonline.com ~ It's better than Fiberglass,.......it's made of SMC (Sheet Molded Compound) ~ It's the best, but it will run you $999.00

www.RKSport.com ~ It will run you $595.00

www.GlassTek.com ~ It's a good quality hood and will cost you $540.00

www.VFNfiberglass.com ~ They only have 3" SS hoods and will run you $595.00

Bottom line when it comes to aftermarket hoods is: "You get what you pay for", so don't buy a cheap hood!!!

and if it says unlimited products run from it, that's what flew off my '75 which is fairly common (was a bolt on with pins and broke around the pins and delaminated)

Thanks for all of the replys! The car itself is white, ive been meaning to try and figure out how to make one of those kool signature pictures everyone else has. But 5 or 6 hundred dont seem bad, I know a professional painter, so thats not an issue. What do you have to do to the car to actually make the ram air functional?

Buy what's called an Air Lid for it. SLP make a good one, and I believe they will net you the most HP gain. I'm not as familiar with them as the LT1's, but everyone I know that's running around 400 RWHP in their LS1's......that's what they have.

Log on to the SLP Link in the above post to look them up.
