I have owned this MACH 1 since October 1987, purchased from the original owner. It had 65,000 miles on the odometer when I bought it. I have no way of knowing if this mileage was accurate or not. Over the years I have attempted to constantly improve and upgrade the car by replacing incorrect parts and adding several options that I wanted. I had the engine and heads re-built (June1991). The carburetor has also been rebuilt. It can squeak the tires in second gear with ease. I have put on about 17,000 miles since the re-builds.

It is an excellent “driver-condition” car and it has won many local and regional show awards. All of the restoration work was directed at making the car look as if it just drove off he showroom floor. There is no non-standard chrome in the engine compartment or “off color” wiring or modifications of that nature. I used either restored original parts or the best reproduction parts I could find. Any additions or modifications to the car could easily be restored to the original state.

In July 2007 it was picked at the Praireland Roundup, Springfield, IL (MCA National Show) by Mustang Monthly (Jim Smart) to be photographed and used as a feature car in an upcoming Mustang Monthly issue. It could very easily be improved to a MCA “Concours” level car. For that it would need a freshening of the undercarriage, a new exhaust system from the manifolds back, and a correct carburetor. The paint although nearly 20 years old, is nearly perfect. The body and all panels were totally stripped of the original dark green color and repainted a beautiful Ford Red.

I have the “Original Invoice” for this car as well as the standard “Marti Auto Works” report. I also have the “Original State of Georgia Title” issued to the original owner, along with much of the dealer paperwork from the Benny Jackson Ford Dealership in Ringgold, GA and letters from the original owner. These three attest to the authenticity of this vehicle.

Please don’t hesitate to call or email me with any questions. I want to be very honest and aboveboard in representing this vehicle. I have other pictures or can take photos of any areas you request. I will make this car available for inspection at almost any time. It is located in the Grand Rapids, MI area. Call 616-901-8086 or email ron-stratton@sbcglobal.net.
