MAZDA MX-6 5 speed
i finally have 2 get rid of my first car...its a green 93 mazda MX6 5 speed...with alot of work put in2 it...engine was rebulit twice...b4 i bought it..and 3 weeks after i bought it...which i shouldn't have done cuz the guy did rebuild.. i have ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLottt of parts for the car..i changed the interior cuz there was a lil rip on the driver side seat....i have another stock rear bumper...anther full interior,new sun roof, alot of extra peices incase nething breaks..it has a very expensive exhaust system..Fox racing i believe..i have new hood, new alternator, new battery indaglo gauges ,5 star rims with new low pros..new brakes front and back..all speakers were changed to pioneers..with a sony deck.. well over 6 g's put in including the car... i'll let it go for 3500 OBO and only reason i am selling is cuz now theres 6 cars on my drive way and only 3 drivers...and my mom made my sell one of my 3 cars.. price is nego.. but no low ballers...this car was NEVERRRR beaten..tranny is mint no grinds and about 251 XXX on the engine...rebulit less then 300 kms not 300 000, b4 i parked it and got a civic... sorry for the long post...juss giving as many details as u would need ....... and now for pix

first one to come with 2200 takes it and all its parts.....waitt.....now its at 2300 without ANYTHING not even rims or sound system....but 2500 takes it with EVERYTHING..or nego.....

This is not a GT, so it is a 4-banger. The 1G GTs were turbocharged 4-bangers and they were so much more fun to drive than the 2G 6-banger GTs. A 6-banger might provide more torque in the powerband, but it just won't be as fun to mod and especially hear. The chicks dig blow-off valves, and so do the guys, LoL. Too bad those cars are hard to find in good condition nowadays. Anyway, this is an RS Mystere model to answer your question in further detail.
By the way, in 2G MX-6s, the N/A 4-bangers have A LOT of pep in 'em too. 0-100 kph is done in approximately 7.3 seconds, which is MORE THAN enough when you have a 5-speed transmission to play with. The GT wastes a lot of gas in my opinon, and it just not worth the extra performance. Get one of these babies, save up some cash, buy a Blitz body kit, turbocharge the engine, and start riding in style!

So, four-bangers are probably the better choice for modders in North America, seeing the gas prices these days.
