-=Car squeaks when going around LEFT turns!=-
 

i've wondered about this a few time, but i still havnt got any good answers. id really like to have this fixed though.

this is on my 96 camaro. see my website for my modifications ( www.cardomain.com/id/loochy88 )

the problem is i get a really high pitched squeak when tunring left. never happens on right turns. it also doesnt happen when the car is going slow. its only turns from about 20 mph up, and it has to be a fairly firm turn. i replaced all four brake pads and that hasnt helped. the rotors are aftermarket rotors, im not sure if that would have anything to do with it. any other ideas? im really stumped on this one. help would be very much appreciated!

have you thought about suspension....i didnt look at your mod list b/c im lazy but my bro has a taurus that would do the same thing b/c of struts or strut mounts or something like that.

strut mounts, wheel bearings (not real likely) any bushing can all squeak spray all the bushings you can see with some silicone lube (won't hurt anyway) see if that helps basically go process of elimination

it doesnt seem like something like that. the noise seems to come from a part that is rotating in one way or another. for instance, on a long left turn, say like an clover leaf onramp, it will squeak the entire time you hold the turn, not just while the suspension compresses.

check wheel bearings, did it go away when the pads were replaced at all?

is it loud like really noticeable?

have the rotors been turned?

turn the rotors. i had this problem last week. funny you mention it. only difference was mine was a squeak*squeak*squeak. rotors were wharped.

yours does sound different, but i'd at least get the front rotors turned. then go from there. its definitely the brakes though, bearings dont squeak.

yes they do (the ones in the gp have) you'll have guys tell you they don't but they can it's just not real common

bearings could be i suppose, but ive never done them before, ill have to look into that.

the rotors are relatively new. less than 5000 miles. i wouldnt think that would be it, but having them turned wouldnt hurt i guess. (if the problem was the rotors, couldn't i theoretically switch the rotors sides, and see if the sound switches sides)?

a bent axle wouldnt do this would it? what about the differential?

yea when i warped my rotors i was getting that squeak-squeak sound when i would turn but after i replaced them the sound went away, also are u sure ur tires arent rubbing ir anything is it like a metal on metal sound or something else

rotors can warp in 5 miles, if it was an axle it would clunk, also I have seen cheap aftermarket rotors (the low priced slotted ones) be warped out of the box

I would lean towards brake problem somewhere as well. If it was a wheel bearing it would typically be more of a hummin sound that would change pitch as your speed changed.

The tolerances are so close on brakes it doesn't take much to throw them off..

yes it would. damn this is funny. after i did the rear disc brake swap my right side did that. only difference is it was all the time. when i pressed the brake it went away. it was a bent axle shaft.
