Unhappy 10 bolt troble!

Well I found out that I need a new rear end limited slip unit. I broke a spider gear and it damaged all the guts and the case a little bit. I dont know if I ruined my axle splines and can't find out until I can get in in my garage to jack it up. Would it be wrth it to get a rear end out of the junk yard and put it in myself for like 100 bucks. Or would it be better to take it to the dyno shop by my house and pay at least 700, 300 just for labor. If I got a rear end out of the junk yard i would change the seals and oil, but what is required to take the old one out and put the new one in? Can I do it in my garage on jackstands? Do i need any special tool? Please help! I am counting on you guys. I have a 7.5 inch 10 bolt. if anyone can sell me one cheap let me know.

considereing the lck of real reliabilit on the f body rear, pay extra and get a good one, a junkyard one the guy who had it may have been doing neutral drops for 10k miles. If you decide to go with a used one let me know and I'll see what kind of deal I can get you (I work selling used parts around the US)
