160 thermo/ low coolent light

Ok so today i switched the 180 thermostat to the 160 and after a short drive the low coolent light came on. Then i switched them back and now the light wont come on. Why is that ? Does the termostat opening sooner some how make the light come on. I checked the coolent and i have plenty.

did you bleed the system after you swapped both times? you might have had an air pocket that was giving the sensor a low reading.

Little late here but...the low coolant sensor is a cheap piece of junk that regularly gives false readings. I have had it happen on my Z and numerous work cars in our fleet (all Chevy). None were low on coolant. I've been told it can happen from old/ bad/clogged coolant too. I replaced the coolant, sensor and thermo all at once.
