3.4 TURBO
Hey fellas my cuzin got a 95 3.4 5 speed for about 5 bills last week,its a 5 speed,the car runs good but needs paint and sheetmetal.I want to know if anybody here has any turbo systems or experience on this motor. I am gonna fab. a turbo kit for his car using a garret t61 w3 in. down pipe.for fuel inrichment im using a 12:1 fmu and rising rate regulator with ls1 injectors with walbro 255 pump and merge main fuel and cold fuel lines to 1 with aftermarket regulator and modify stock fpr and fuel rail. My question is if anybody knows how much power can be made on this motor with stock internals. Also does anybody know where to get rebuild kits for these motors with hypereutuectic pistons, not looking for forged je's or nuthin like that.I assume at least 400 hp with asafe tune but im not sure.Do all 3.4 use 16# injectors?

That kit seems to be making some good power, i can honestly say i underestimated the motor a bit.Looks like his system is gettin close to 400 rwhp, thats pretty cool but i dont think i will use a greddy bov,hmm his upgraded turbo is very similiar to one i will be using. I like his intake manifold idea but i think i will use a ls1 tb or a 3800 tb, Im gonna enjoy buildin this system.its a project for me i am gonna build it to kick mod motor slowstangs.seeing as how they dont want to race a turbo SS. thanx for the site PC ,gave me some good ideas.

first off...LS1 injectors wont work on 3.4s, read that on a v6 board awhile ago..
second... http://www.ftpp.net/v6main.htm ...best place for 3.4 and even some 3.8 parts. i love this guy. got my whole 3.4 valvetrain from him...thanks josh!
third off, this motor is actually very strong. it comes with forged steel i-beams from the factory. i dont know too much else about the bottom end...but if they threw those kinda rods into it you can imagine it can take quite a bit...this lil motor is strong!

get ahold of the guy from WCFB... i think his name is russle... he has the "3400" camaro........... hes the 3.4 god in my eyes.......... il also be building a 3.4 once i get my **** car back together............ good luck... keep us updated... take lots of pix

yea!that 3.4 was way low in carankin compression it ran alright but i guess it was on its way out, anyways here is an update for the thread for anybody that cares, i have pulled the motor and tranny and the car will receive an LS1/700r4 combo, for less than a thosand less over what it will cost to build a turbo 3.4, it just makes more sense to build a hi power for almost the same cash.the engine is a 346ci modified stock bottom end with flycut pistons,ported modified heads,T-REX LS1 cam and about 11.5 compression ratio, it will be carburated with the edelbrock setup with a double pump 800 holley carb.,tranny will be a 700 with alto reds steels/clutches.built to handle at least 500 ft/lb. tork. i convinced my cuzin to just build the LSx. when i get my new digi cam i hope to add some pics of the install.
