my friend has a thrid gen with a built 350, open headers(electric cut outs), built block with a huge *** intake that wont clear the hood(had to cut a hole in it, but he bought a hood that will clear and it looks like a WS6 hood with the 2 inlets. He has 3.73 open rear diff, B&M ratchet shifter, this camaro is built, its a blue thrid gen Iroc-Z and it sounds nasty. i was teasing him and revved up my engine and he revved his and it shook my car, I was like wtf, he pulled out of the school parking lot and slammed the gas and it just took off, I think he's got a 12 sec car or faster for sure. It sounded like almost like a nascar engine at idle. He took the block off a ford crown royal, just the block, all the internals are aftermarket.

lol...he wanted to know the lightest year...
I would say it's down to the options, power windows/vs non-power windows etc.

I don't think there's going to be much of a difference between the years.

It's only a guess, but I'd say get a bare bones 82-84 sport coupe. If it has no AC, no power windows, with manual trans etc.

Gotta be lighter than an IROC or Z. JMO
