412 Build Started Tonight

So guys got all my stuff back from the machine shop, had them tank it,bore/hone it .030, align bore and drill outside bolts for my splayed main caps, sqaure deck it, and balance my rotating assembly.

Excited as i was i pretty much jumped right to it (when i had time ofcourse). Now the only problem is i got #1 in turned her over a few times no problemo. Dropped #6 in, turn her over 1ce no problem, turned her over again and CLUNK!!!! **** rod is hitting the cam so im guessing im going to have to grind it down (actualy rod itself). Anybody have any suggestions?

Oh and specs are as follows

412ci's (.030 over and 3.8" stroke) 4 Bolt Splayed Caps w/ ARP Main Studs

Eagle 4340 3.8" stroke Crank w/ 400 mains

Scat 4340 6" H Beam Rods with ARP 8740 Cap Screws

SRP Forged 4cc Domed Pistons

Super Victor Intake

AFR 220 Heads 76cc Chambers

Solid Roller Cam
264/272 @ .050
.649/.649 Lift
107 LSA

850CFM Might Demon Carb

If im missin somethin you want to know about go ahead and ask and ill let you know.

Here are the pics

sweet. looks good. make sure that torque wrench is calibrated. my dad's heads leaked after he got the motor all in so he had to pull it out and couldnt figure it out then just put new bolts in and redid it, used the same clicker torque wrench up to like 80. then he checked all the bolts with his needle one, and they were all at like 60, so a shitty wrench cost him like 100 bucks in new bolts and gaskets and a big setback and pain.

only if you want to grenade the motor rods are balanced just a little off will cause it to be out of balance, have the machine shop do it or buy a balancer for them

I gotta question about that actually, its not hitting the base of the cam so how would a small circle base help?

That's gorgeous. I can't wait to buy my 350 block to have it made into the 383.
