Exclamation 86 firebird with 87 350 tpi problems?

I just got this car on a trade. It is in really good condition but has one problem that I for the life of me can not figure out. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: The car with idle fine and everything when you are driving it will do alright for a little while and then it will be sluggish. So I took it home and opened the hood, with the engine running. I then moved the throttle (form under the hood) moving it a little it was alright, but when I got to full throttle it damn near stalled but it stayed running just rough. What could cause this problem?????? :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

check timing, fuel filter may need changed, may be a weak fuel pump, check fuel pressure, do a tune up maybe the plugs are bad, a bad tps could also do that, but not as likely. Do a tune up first (never hurts especially with a used car)and see how it does

do what archemedes suggests in addition to chekin the health of your distributor and coil/rotor cap, sounds like a weak ignition prob or combination of weak fuel pump and ignition.also check crankin compression, cylinder leakdown, your motor may be in need of a rebuild. good luck

is there a cat on the car, because they are known to break off inside and become lodged into the exhaust sideways.
