Ac Blower
AC Blower Question. As you know I live in FL and it is about 95 everyday now and my AC that was working alright now barly seems to work my blower barly blows is this becasue it is old or just not as good as the ones today?? I was thinking of taking the one off the I-Roc and putting it in my car but will that let all the freon out when I remove the blower????

blower is just an electric motor, could be motor bad, filled with junk, or bad resistor (does the speed change with different switch positions?)should be accessable from under teh hood on teh firewall

If you dump out all the freon and your car is fit to use R-12, you can do a R-134a conversion in your driveway for about $10 (plus the price of the freon), just don't let the EPA know.
Last time I bought freon was about five years ago and it was like $3.00/lb for R-134a, just to give you an idea on the cost.
A couple things to check though, does your A/C vary the amount of air coming out as you adjust the ****, or is it the same throughout the entire switch? Could be a vacuum leak as well, you might want to check for those prior to buying a new blower, especially if it "all of a sudden" stopped working.

But yeah, if it's cold, its not freon.

they shouldn't be in the way (it's not an impala ss where the whole freaking dash and a/c system has to be removed to get to the **** thing and find all that's wrong is a dead ******* mouse)

The blower motor is on the passenger side of the firewall. There is like 5 bolts that hold it in the AC box. Take it out, but leave it plugged and then run it to test it to see how well its working. If its not the blower motor you probably just need more freon... which they do not sell over the counter anymore. You have to go to a shop to have it done.

Thanks for the help!!! yes it has like 3 or 4 speeds but the highest speed is like the lowest in some of the newer cars I was just wondering if I could get a blower that is a little faster. my car has already been converted to R-134a some times when I sit at light if I dont hold the RPM up a little it is not cold I think it si becasue it si low on freon but it idels low also like just below 500 when the AC is on I am going to turn it up when I get sometime.

Just for fun, if you have a dual fan setup, check and see if the A/C fan comes on when you turn the A/C on...
