what's the distance? they were considered marginal on the heavy cars (the f body included)

I would say if you have the stock LT1 brake setup any change to aftermarket (BAER / Wilwood / etc) or LS1 upgrade is gonna make a huge difference on an LT1 (stock brakes stink). If you have an LS1 and want to upgrade I would agree that the only place you would really see a difference is on the AX or RR courses. The LS1 brake upgrade is a very worthwhile investment on a LT1 car. I personally just did the Wilwood 6 piston fronts (LS1 spindles) and 4 piston rears. I have not even had a chance to try out the new setup yet. It's still sitting on the rack

I haven't did anything yet, just some slotted rotors, but I plan to in the future, when I start more engine work. Stopping quickly is definitely a necessity.
