**** and I can't autostart cause the more it warms up the more it leaks, so I'm just gonna keep topping off my antifreeze until i take it to get fixed tomorrow or wednesday. I have to get in to a cold car!

****, drove to work today and thought I was gonna get sick... turned the heat on and all that came out was antifreeze fumes the whole way to work, pretty nasty after awhile

Good news is that after driving to and from work (a 10 mile total drive there and back) I didn't actually lose too much coolant. My dad's thinking that the water pump went bad behind it, which he really doesn't seem to think is normal... Arch, are there any metal pipes that you know of behind the water pump? I myself am having a hard time believing that's what it is because it's wet from above the thermostat (dry at the thermostat though) and then from an inch or so below the thermostat you can basically trace the water all the way down... most of the antifreeze is at the water pump and below, so it might just be blowing up but the rest of the engine doesn't have it, it's all in the nooks and crannies as if it's trickling down.
**** tho, we opened the cap to the radiator and **** that is some nasty *** brown **** in there

Donno bout LTx style water pumps since I know all those dumb ol things are reverse coolant n all. But im guessin they work the same way the Gen1/2 style blocks do. Their should be a weep hole. Is it dripping when u run the car? If it is its ur water pump. If not...it could still be ur water pump but they put that weep hole into them so that u know its bad. Sometimes they go bad and it does not weep tho. A Water pump is a pretty simple device. Theres a idler on the end that attaches to a pulley that is driven by the serpentine belt system. And on the opposite end of the water pump is a fan type device that pushes the water. Its attached to the idler so when it turns the fan inside turns and pushes the water. Now sometimes the idler spins freely with out the fan in the back moving at all and thats how they can go bad. Theres not much that can go wrong with a water pump it either works or it doesnt. Take the thermostat off, boil it in some water. And see if it opens at the temp its supposed to open at. If it does its fine. Put it back, new gasket. Just first actually find out where the leaks are coming from. Even if ur car over heats it shouldnt leak anywhere but at the overflow tank reservoir. That may help us out its kinda hard to helpp with out knowing anything really.
