Stopped a dealer today, selling a 79 Camaro Z28. So far(we are going to thouroughly inspect it Monday if all goes well at Ryan's job - don't ask) it looks to be of okay condition. The body has some rust spots, but they are very small, and they are only minor surface rust to a little worse(no holes or anything). Paint is a glossy black, but older(has been repainted at some poin in its life). Interior is in relatively good condition, a little faded, a few tears, typical wear for a 26 year old car. The engine - 350 with some work, lots of new parts(this thing shines) but is missing the parts needed to get it inspected i.e pollution parts/accessories. Manual aftermarket transmission(from what we could tell). Asking $3500. I'll find out more about the engine and stuff Monday when we (hopefully) go back to talk to the guy that knows more about it.

yeah, I was reading about how the late 70s were starting to rise. I thought its a bit much, but it is in pretty good condition. If we go to look at it Monday, I'll see if I can borrow my Dad's camera to take some pics. Ryan wants it, alot. He's thinking about selling the T/A because of all the work it needs, and he just doesn't have the time right now, and some chick offered him like $1100 for it. So....

that's not bad for his, the '79 is gaining in popularity, especially becasue of availability of the early cars it's teh '74 to'77 that are really cheap (I still like the chrome bumper though)

I've always loved the 79s, and they used to not be too expensive. The way prices are starting to rise on them, looks like I'll never get to own one because by the time I get the money, they'll be outta my league.

My dad had a 79 Z28, ok car but IMO the early 70's 1st gens were some of the best looking Camaros ever.

i hate early second gens, and love the late second gens. I've always wanted the t/a from Smokey & the Bandit since I was like 4-5 years old.
