69z-28 07-23-2006 12:32 AM

basically... what you do when that happens. is throw it out, put in a peice of same size tubing and ditch the kitty.

blue89vert 07-23-2006 12:36 AM

emmisions matt lol

Mikerock 07-23-2006 03:07 AM

pull it out and run a gutted cat, when you need to get emissions done buy a cat to put in there and just switch them out.

yea that honeycomb stuff is what makes a cat a cat and not just pipe lol but yea definatly needs replaced especially if u need to pass emissions

alot of work for absolutly no gain, a high flow cat has been shown to not hurt hp at all (sometimes cars made more power than with a gutted cat)

blue89vert 07-23-2006 12:24 PM

ch yeah i found the magnaflow high flow cat on ebay a 3" one for like 55 shipped brand new. so yeah ill get that when i get the money and im probly gonna put a cutout in. WHere to put the cutout? before or after the cat?

archemedes 07-23-2006 07:08 PM

depends on tone you want

blue89vert 07-23-2006 07:13 PM

the deeper one

archemedes 07-23-2006 09:21 PM

before is louder, but may have more raspy sound open headers don't have a deep tone, that's one of the things a muffler does
