well first off, what are you getting. Pretty valuble piece of info to be leaving out

suggestions: keep your foot off the floor. Since you said you just got it, I can garuntee youre laying into it...That, and you said you were shifting at like 3k... Thats a quick way to throw cups of gas out the window. I told you you were shifting too high.

Fuel at the bottom end of the fuel tank goes down fast because they are shaped like an inverted triangle as far as I know.

Camaro gas gauges, and alot of GM gauges in general, have the tendancy to stay on full for near half the tank, then for the other half drop rapidly, making you think your burning alot of fuel.

yea camaro guages are weird and alot of times do weird things, but the easiest way to test is just fill up the tank and then see how many miles u get, ull probably get more than u think

Correct, its shaped like an upsidedown triangle and thats why your gas will last forever until you get to a half tank.

Dunno why you even made this thread from driving 40 miles...

The answer is simple. Shift at 4500 for 40 miles... yes, youre going to get ****** gas milage, you should be shifting at 2k.

Easy Mr. ****. Hes new to this, so im trying not to be too harsh on the guy. Gotta learn sometime. Just keep your foot out of it and your gas mileage should be fine.

most cars do that for one simple reason, people like seeing it say full longer (it is engineered into the gauge and sending unit) basically it's because humans are stupid

Sorry just being honest. Thats a no brainer, serisouly. I could see if you had driven 300 miles... or you dropped your whole tank in 2 days... but 40 miles. Thats not anyway accurate to judge your gas milage.

Kinda like saying I think my tire is flat... I ran over some nails, but Im not sure.
