i know the feelin bro.......right now im ordering new cast iron head for my 94z because for the second time i overheated the engine and it pi--ed me off to have my car sittin in my backyard. The first time i took the heads off it wasnt nothing, but the stock exhaust was hellto get off.It cost 400 to get the heads fixed and maybe another 150 to get gaskets and stuff. This time im gettin a electric water pump, goza catch can(because antifreeze was constantly coming out the reservoir) fan switch and 160therma

change of plans

parent just said fix it so we took it to my local coast auto (by the way the opti was out too) on a monday night, the next day they took her apart and found out that the head was warped slightly and bolth head gaskets were blown. so they ship my heads to brookings (a town not too much bigger than mine) but it took them 2 weeks to finish the heads, put them back on and get that done. Well they start on the opti spark, I come in there 3 days later and its running!!! But there is a tickin sound so we lift the car and took a look under and found out that there was a spark arcing off the cap to the block?? well that not right now is it ? come to find out they put in a 95 opti cap and i guess they are diffrent. Ok now 3 weeks has gone by and the new opti came and they put it on so I went in there to take it for a test drive and it ran like crappp felt a stock v 6?? the only thing else it could be now is the plug wires so they order up some plugs wiers and plugs.. this was on friday they dont work on weekends so on monday the guy who was working on my car calls in sick i was soo pissed he was out untill wednesday and i got my car out yesterday it took them a month and a day for an original 3 day job

but it all ended up costing 3600 and they threw in a free wash job
looks like i'll be in debt for a longggg time

You drove hte car for a year or 2 with a blown head gasket? Wheres the face where it slapps itself in the forhead when you need it. No white exhaust? Doesnt have to smoke out the exhaust but ya. It would overheat thats for sure. You just drove it while it was overheating this whole time? I rode my gixxer today after getting it nearly done. Overheated on me in the twisties. Isnt too unusual for it to hit 225 230. Hit 240. Pulled off to the side of the road and waited till it cooled way down. My radiators pretty busted up but it holds water and i though it would work. Didnt, cant circulate water right is my guess. Anywayz point is i stopped driving after it overheated. Engines are just too expensive to keep on driving even tho you know its getting damaged. Id do it myself and save a ton of money but thats just me. If you are that well off then well hey pay somebody to do it. Hope you didnt warp anything.
