buying a used lt1

buying a used lt1

what should i look for when buying a used lt1 ? i have around 6-7 grand to spend. thanks !

check for moisture around the water pump. when the pump starts to leak and its neglected the opti can be damaged. also the rear of the intake manifold likes to leak oil. thats probably the only thing that plagues LT1s.

other than that its just the basic smell oil, check fluids, listen for ticks, blah blah. one thing i like to do is on the test drive RAIL IT once or twice. i knew a guy who took it easy test driving his ls1, then he bought it and went drivin and as soon as he went WOT it bogged on em.
