Not a huge power boost as they would lead you to believe...but it does help.

The high pressure area it talks about is because the air it scoops up from the road and tries to push it thru the radiator(s). Because it can't flow right thru it becomes a high pressure area you can pull air from into your air intake. The theory is good-

I don't have an LS1 style intake system so I can't say first hand how much of a difference it makes- wait for one of them to chime in...

same as SLP's cold air induction, it takes the air from the radiator scoop and it has a cooling effect through the metal before it reaches the box and filter.

I have it installed on my car. It doesn't make any seat of the pants power but I'm sure at higher speeds it will make a little power. Don't expect anything crazy by any means though.

You have to cut the plastics and then the CAI goes down in front of the radiator I believe and screw it in.....it's been a while since I had the one on my car. If you are doing the CAI make sure you have a lid to go with it or it's not gonna help that much with the factory one on it.

I don't know how much of a difference you'll feel in the car, because I did a whole bunch of other mods to my car at the same time that I had done that. (this was before the TT's)

horsepower tv did a dyno test with the airbox, bellows, airfilter, and the CAI and it showed a 19 hp gain i believe if you saw that episode. I think they also put an 80mm throttle body and a few more things to jazz it up.

FORCE_FED_Z 06-25-2007 12:29 AM

You wouldn't get that much gain on a V6, but I'm pretty sure there would be some.

98CamaroZ28 06-25-2007 12:39 AM

yea a v6 def would not get that close of a gain, maybe around 5 or 6 hp gain at most. Horse power tv did it on a ls1 camaro btw.

A-RoN'sZ 06-25-2007 01:10 AM

Was the 19 to the rears or crank? That's a pretty decent gain for the money on a LS1.

98CamaroZ28 06-25-2007 01:38 AM

to the rear

2000v6cam 06-25-2007 01:48 AM

yea thats more of a gain then i would think of on any engine for that kind of thing

A-RoN'sZ 06-25-2007 02:07 AM

Yea that's a really good gain to the rear. Derek, have you done CAI or just the lid?
