Cam Kit

I'm not sure if I'll go with a new cam or not but I've b een doing some research. I have a local friend(Owns a '96 Grand Sport, '02 427ci Z06, and a cammed/bolton '06 Z06), that's trying to talk me into an LG cam kit. I know they have a really high quality kit and such but they want over $1300 for their kit. I'm also looking at TSP that sells their cam kits for just under $600. It's a HUGE difference in price but not a big difference in parts. LG does come with a little more but not a huge amount really.
Am I stupid for wanted to save the money and buy via TSP instead of LG? Or is it simply you get what you pay for?

I'd save the money and go with TSP. Im personally a compcams guy, but TSP is a good brand too.

This local friend... You should hoax him into giving me one of his 3 (THREE) corvettes. I KNOW he doesnt have time to use them all equally... I could take the burden off his shoulders for fair treatment :ne_nau:

chad, my friend will have a magic stick 4 complete cam package in his 00 SS in a few weeks, ill let you know how it is, although it SHOULD be an easy swap with outstanding results.

Mike Jones 01-31-2007 01:24 PM

It's not one of the magic stick cams. I'm looking at the 231/237 cam. The Lou cam I'm looking at is the G5X2.

You mean out of the two I posted?

I'm hearing a lot of good things about Lou's cam right now but I'll keep researching until I click the Buy button.

I'm talking to Outlaw to see what they can do for me as well.

Little of both but mostly on their products.

I'm currently talking to Straightline Performance and it looks like I'll be buying my cam from there. They are giving me the best price.

I'm still talking to them. I'm just asking a lot of questions so I get exactly what I want.

FamousZ 02-02-2007 02:07 PM

Don't worry I'll keep you updated. I won't have it installed until it's closer to spring because there's no point in doing it now.
I'm going to install 4.10's at the same time to take full advange of it. Since I will lose some low end power with a cam I want to overcome that by getting it up in the RPM range faster.

zheiling 02-09-2007 12:10 AM

What's new?

About the waiting till closer to spring, I totally agree because my new cam is installed and I can't even drive it :banghead: stupid snow.
