Question cam question

HEY GUYS,HOPE THE HOLIDAYS ARE GOING WELL FOR YOU !THIS QUESTION IS FOR ANY ONE WITH A ANSWER FOR ME I'VE GOT A 97 Z28,I WAS WONDERING WHAT THE BIGGEST CAM I CAN PUT IN WITHOUT WORRING ABOUT VALVE TO PISTON CLEARANCE

call comp, or lunati. A big cam does not always make the most power (most times it makes less power than even a stock one)

yeah after a certain point the bigger you go you'll need more fuel to back it up.

A big cam will also put your power band higher up in the RPM range. Unless you have some really good heads supported by a good valve train your not going to enjoy the full benefits of a big cam.

thanks guys

thanks guys for the info , i'm familiar with the power band and fuel upgrade that goes along with a cam up grade,my 88 notch back went 9.47 @149mph,and a 1.39 short time ,it's just this time around i want to do it with a little more class,you know mustangs are like ******** everyone seems to have one!now i'm on to bigger and better 97 z28 with 40,000 mi now it's time to break it in ,thanks again BILL

if you want to race it go look for joe overton ctom ground cams, not much more then an off the shelf one and you'll get just what you want.
