the second one has a touch up cup instead of 2 regular ones (holds less paint, but it a bit easier to manuver in small areas I use one for wheel wells, but a decent touch up gun is only $20 or so, 2 full size cups would be a better choice)

So you would say the first kit is worth the extra $50?

yeah since you get 2 guns that would be used when painting (never use the same gun for primer and paint)where the other would only be small stuff

Odd, I just discovered that my store actually does carry some paint stuff (besides guns) in the back. Primer surfacer, primer sealer, and even some paint. Just one question though, what is reducer and why do I need to use it?

reducer is what makes the paint dry (like thinner, but for urethane paint)

Arch, where do I look to buy good automotive paint. Never really thought about it but my brother and I are thinking about painting my hood ourselves.

How would I find the correct paint color?

The guy who painted my spoiler had all the color templates in his house and he just sprayed a couple on a peice of paper and compared it to my car for the correct color.

Awesome thanks will do.

My brother's painted car's before and I've been reading a lot on it so I'm sure we can do it no problem.

Hmm then I might need some reducer. The main brand we sell at O'Reillys is Dupli Color, not the best brand but good enough for small interior work and the like. The colors that we stock are super black (I think gloss black basically) and fleet white. I'm not sure how close of a match fleet white is to arctic white but since it will be on the interior I doubt it will matter. BTW Arch is clear coating a requirement when painting or is it only needed when the painted object will be on the outside of the car?

Screw that, I will just go with arctic white (one of the brightest whites I think). I called the head office and asked to have one of dupli color's paint books sent to my store. On an interesting we can also get in house of kolar products too.
