coolant on the underside of the engine bay and or a tiny bit of coolant dripping out of the wheep hole if there is a ton of it on the ground, it means the gasket is bad...most likely a bad pump...

The way I could tell my pump was going bad, is I could smell coolant somtimes sitting at idle. Also it was leeking out of the weep hole into the serp belt which was throwing it in my engine bay. There were little pools of coolant, or leftover coolant below the pump.

Check the belt looseness, There shouldnt be any play in it.

Check for fluid leaking out the weep hole, or the gasket. Either way if fluid is leaking its time for a new one.

Water pumps are not really that expensive.

Check your Thermo-stat also, You could test them by pulling it in boiling water to ensure it opens and closes. Or you could just replace it, They are under 10 bucks for a new one.

A stuck thermo-stat will cause your car to overheat.

yea I can def smell coolant at idle, it was already diagnosed as a bad pump by the dealership...we told them we couldnt afford 700$ (lies of course) they might *** something up and so my dad and I are going to do it our selves for less then 250$ and why were at it, all the belts are being replaced gotta take them off anyways. good luck with your prob.

Is the Mr. Gasket Electric Water Pump any good? Can I replace the bad one with that cause its only $100 whereas other prices for regular pumps are at $180? (I prefer not to replace it with a generic pump).

Well, just found out radiator was bad. Mechanic said it leaked after he cleaned it and it was horribly rusted (damn water). $160 for a new generic one as a quick fix, no funds for a be cool radiator yet. Hopefully if doesnt get hot and that radiator light turns off.

And it was the radiator, hopefully. It's runnin 210 average but the fans kick on at 225 and cool it to 210. I want to opt for the Diablo Sport Programmer for the apparent hp gain but so I can also lower the temp when the fans turn on. Anybody got a review?

check with a code scanner and see what the pcm sees for temps, my gp shows 200 at the gauge but 190 at the pcm (confirmed with aftermarket temp probe) my fans come on at 210 after my programming and it runs much better than it did when the guy I got it from had it running at 180*
