car wont start?

Yesterday I switched over from shorty headers to full length headers (pain in the *** dont do it unless you have a full afternoon and are totaly sure you need them) and while I was pulling the plugs and wires I noticed that the firing order was not correct. I did not do the firing order on the car originaly and trusted the guy who did it. So I put the firing order the way it should be and now it wont start and of course I didnt write down the one it had because it wasnt right. My question is are there any alternate firing orders for non LT1-LS1 small block chevys and will the wrong order damage my motor? I know crane sells a cam that switches 4 and 7 around but I am scared to try switching 4 and 7 on mine in case it can cause damage.

Ps I have a stock ZZ4 crate motor no mods yet

it won't hurt anything. Is it popping through the carb? If so your off 180 degrees.

chances are you don't have teh 4/7 swap

I got it fixed. I was talking to my buddy on the phone and he had me run down everything I did in detail and it turned out I had my wires going counter clockwise instead of clockwise on the distributer. lol. I guess I was too frustrated and tired after doing the headers to think about wich way the wires go on the cap. O-yea full length really changes the sound of the car over shortys. It sounds so much meaner now!

Yea I had my motor halfway out. I do not have full exhaust yet but I will be running full length hedmans, hedman universal x-tensions, 2 1/2 pipe, thrush turbo mufflers, and turndowns. I will post pics when I am done.

Grey- yea its an easy thing to mess up :lolsign:

blue89vert 09-09-2006 12:12 PM

here are the pics I am making mine from very simple with like 4'' of ground clearence at its lowest point. the pics have bullet mufflers in some and dynomax super turbos in others he changed them cause the bullets were too loud.

i've seen that guy on tgo before, and i've seen that set up already. What im saying is, while yes you can go under the x member it still bottoms out (ive done it, dual 3") now ontop of that i have the spohn x member and theres no way what so ever. Do show pics when you're done. Good luck

BLACK ICE 09-09-2006 01:48 PM

Ok the way he said he did it was by dimpling the pipes for clearance and he claims to have 4 1/2 inches at the lowest point...
